A very popular member of the quartz family, this crystal is made up of silicon dioxide. In addition to irradiation, it’s irresistible soft pink hue comes from the tiny inclusions of pink fibres (called dididumortierite) within the glassy stone that keep it from being totally transparent. This is also why we keep this crystal out of the sun, so as to not loose its pretty shade. The rose quartz can be found in abundance in mines throughout the world (heavenly!).
